Eco-friendy Skoy Cloths – a giveaway

In keeping with the spirit of the second annual Ditch the Disposables Challenge, I want to tell you about a great eco-friendly paper towel replacements – the SKOY cloth. SKOY cloths are reusable, very absorbent, bright and fun, machine washable and microwavable, and at the end of their life, biodegradable. They are non-toxic, chlorine-free and made using water-based colors and inks. According to, “Using one SKOY cloth is the equivalent to using 15 rolls of paper towels in an average home.” To read more about SKOY cloths, check out my SKOY review from last year.

To help you with the Ditch the Disposables ChallengeSKOY is giving away FOUR 4-packs of SKOY cloths. All you need to do for a chance to win is:

  1. Hi! I have already entered the challenge and was talking it up to some friends. I mentioned family cloth to a friend whom I considered to be more crunchy than me and he told me he had never thought of using them! Well, they use cloth for their baby but they never thought of using them for the adults and older kids! So I was excited to talk about the challenge and my thoughts…especially since I feel like it’s a stretch for me! As for the SKOY cloths, we have survived a while w/o paper towel but are in need of some good cloths for cleaning. Rags are not cutting it! Thank you for hosting so many good things on your blog!

  2. I am interested to see how these work. I need an alternative to the paper towels I have not bought in over a year-one would think I would have this figured out already. But no, I don’t have anything yet!

  3. I totally failed at this challenge tonight. Went to dinner, ordered too much food and brought home leftovers in styrofoam containers. Also used disposable chopsticks and even a straw at the restaurant. I even have a pair of screw together steel chopsticks that I forgot at home and I was so damn thirsty I felt the need to use a straw.

And on the note I could definitely use to use some disposable cloths.

  4. I just signed up because these would be perfect – paper towels are the biggest offender at my house. Thank you for the chance!

  5. I would love to try these out. I hate using paper towels and would like to have an alternative. I’d also review them on my blog. Signing up for the Ditch the Disposables challenge now.

  6. WOW there is just so much wrong with my previous comment. Yes I would like some REUSABLE cloths not disposable and I also meant to say I could use to WIN some of these REUSABLE cloths not use to use. Apparently dinner didn’t help my brain function at all.

  7. Although I didn’t sign up, I have been doing these challenges and this one ties in with a personal challenge of mine, so I would love to win some of these gorgeous cloths!

Thanks for hosting a great comp.

  8. I entered the challenge to give up my plastic cutlery and tissue habit. But I love skoy clothes- they last a long time and when they are stinky I just throw them in the washer with a load of clothes and they come out fresh and ready to go!

  9. My friend sent your blog link over. I am excited to get the feed, it looks interesting! We have been using old torn up socks as dish rags. I would love to add the colors of the SKOY towels to our kitchen collection. *fingers crossed*

Thanks for the online mom support to this cause!

  10. I would love to ditch paper towels too and am willing to give these a try! We signed up to Ditch the Disposables of water bottles.

  11. I signed up for the challenge and have been rocking my reusable coffee filter like nobody’s business! Disposable sponges are another story. It’s a compromise for the sake of my marriage but I’d like to find something I could compost when we’re done with it.

  12. I quit paper towels a couple of years ago. Don’t miss them AT ALL!

I just replenished my towel basket by the sink with homemade dishclothes from old towels (reuse!!! recycle!!)

But, if I win, I would share these with a die hard paper towel addict who swears life would cease to exist if paper towels weren’t purchased in massive packs and used in extreme quantities! Perhaps one small gift could change her outlook.

  13. I just signed up for the “Ditch the Disposables” challenge today and I’d love to win the Skoy cloths. I use paper towels in our kitchen at work and it makes me feel guilty every time. I’d love to have a Skoy cloth at my desk that I could use to dry my hands!

  14. I just signed up, I’m ditching the paper towels and paper napkins…and want to start carrying my own coffee cup again. I’d love to try the Skoy cloths.

  15. I just signed up, I’m ditching the paper towels and paper napkins…and want to start carrying my own coffee cup again. I’d love to try the Skoy cloths.

sorry for the double post – it said anonymous?

  16. These look great! I am always looking for absorbant towels to clean with and so far haven’t found anything that I love. Thanks for the chance to win some 🙂

  17. This would really be a great addition to my college student’s apartment – not only would it be easy on the environment but it would also be easy on a college budget.

  18. I’ve been doing really well on not using paper towels this month. I think by the end of the challenge, I’ll probably be weaned of them all together! Would love to try the SKOY clothes too.

    🙂 julie

  19. I’ve tried giving up paper towels a few times…and every time, after a couple months, they find their way back into my grocery buggy. Darn things! Maybe these would help me give up my paper towel vice for good! 🙂
